2016-08-06 Korean Comfort Women commemoration

We sang at the unveiling of a statue dedicated to the “comfort women”, victims of military sexual slavery in WWII. It was a large event for the Korean community and attracted considerable criticism by a Japanese community group (see SMH link).

The venue was the Sydney Korean Community Hall, 82 Brighton Ave Croydon Park

The event started at noon on the Saturday 6th of August 2016. The community provided a veritable Korean banquet after the ceremony about 3pm.

Our song list:

  • Marchsong for the Beloved
  • Warrior

The whole audience seemed to join in with our Korean language song “Marchsong for the Beloved”.
